Click HERE for Customer Comments ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Questions & Answers About Using Move Facilitations Q: Do you help people moving into supported living or retirement communities? A: Yes! Knowing the floor plans of the units and the personnel in the sales departments of the area’s retirement communities enables a move to a new community go more smoothly—so “living” can begin immediately! Q: What about just helping people “rightsize”? I have so much clutter! Can you help? A: Yes! A person’s needs change as life stories and journeys change. We can organize and rid the things one no longer needs. “Rightsizing” is a good motto for all ages! Q: How will the client stay in control of the move? A: We will go over the work plan at the beginning so that the client understands how we’ll work together as a team. While we will do the work and help clients make decisions, final decisions are made by the client. At no time will we move forward without the client’s consent. The proposal will explain this in detail.
Q: Are you bonded and insured? A: Yes, Move Facilitations is bonded and insured. We are very careful about who is asked to work in clients’ homes. Most importantly, we work as a team of caring, mature individuals who are known to us and highly-regarded. Q: What is NASMM and why did you join? A: The National Association of Senior Move Managers offers not only a network of senior move managers across the country with whom we work but also provides continued education and expects all members to adhere to NASMM’s code of ethics. When you see NASMM (a nonprofit organization), you know you are working with the best. Q: Can you move someone cross country? A: Yes, mainly by working through our NASMM connections. Q: Can you help find a moving company, a real estate agent, and other services? A: Yes. We will look at clients’ unique needs and desires, and help find an agent or other vendors as needed. The client is always in control of this process, and we will not recommend vendors who provide a “kickback” to us for recommending them. Q: Do you work with people who have conditions such as Alzheimers? A: Yes! All people maintain the right to dignity and respect regardless of circumstance. We make an effort to stay abreast of current trends and become knowledgeable of older adult issues. This is how we can best deliver our product.
Q: How much will this cost? A: Most of our services are based on hourly rates. Each customized proposal will explain this in detail. The client can spend as little or as much as the personal budget permits. We can help prioritize the services that will most help in meeting unique goals. Another question is, “What will this cost me in terms of peace of mind, career or physical health if I DON’T use Move Facilitations?!”

Marsha Clark is the founder, owner and principal staff for Move Facilitations. Among the many programs, projects and organizations she has led professionally or has served in leadership roles as a volunteer, Marsha held the position of managing director of the OASIS program in St. Louis, which focuses on active, healthy living and continued education and service after one reaches age 55. She has made many relocations throughout her life and has moved older loved ones, knowing the challenges and emotions first hand. Clark recognizes no move is "just a move." This former teacher holds degrees in education and business. Marsha is certified in both elementary and music education, and has served educational programs in many ways. Her career includes eleven years with a commercial bank, serving in areas of community relations, international banking and large corporate accounts. Marsha lived in St. Louis County for more than 30 years, and lived in St. Clair County, Illinois, before that. She knows the area, and is extensively active in many community organizations. Marsha's lifelong hobby is genealogy, and she enjoys studying history. Additionally, she writes and continues to volunteer for not-for-profit organizations in a variety of ways. About Our Relocation Technicians The people working in our clients' homes (Relocation Technicians) demonstrate maturity, possess caring personalities and an understanding of older adult needs. Our backgrounds include teaching, social work, restaurant management, accounting, corporate relocation, and parenting for most. Most hold degrees of higher learning, and all are skilled for tasks related to relocation. To serve as a member of the Move Facilitations team, one must be of the highest character, be skilled, patient, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about their work--even under the most trying of times and situations. Our Technicians are patient, yet skilled in keeping to task to meet--and exceed--our customers' goals. Technicians are more than "packers." Whether it is a matter of responding to a client who locked her file cabinet but misplaced the key, or a client who had ordered window coverings from a store for the new residence but which got delayed in shipment, or figuring out how to be "in two places at once," Move Facilitations' team members step up to face challenges that require caring, resourceful heads and hands to address clients' needs. Each client and move is unique, and each is handled in a customized fashion. Discussions about senior issues (such as dimentia, Alzheimer's, loneliness, creating a legacy and life review) are ongoing, with everyone hungry to learn more. In many situations, the teachers are our clients, whose lives have earned the right to be called an elder. "I have learned so much from her," said another team member in reflection on words of life wisdom offered in conversation with a client she served. "This is what I want to do!" exclaimed one team member about her new, mid-life career choice as a Relocation Technician with Move Facilitations. This enthusiasm for facing challenges and welcoming the joys derived from serving others is what enables Move Facilitations to earn its rave reviews. |
